Climate Vulnerability and Risk Digital Maps
Project Overview:
This project develops National Climate Vulnerability and Risk Digital Maps (CVRDM)) to identify current and future climate risk hotspots across key sectors, aiming to strengthen Uganda’s capacity to plan for and respond to climate risks through digitalized climate services and early warning systems.
Key Contributions:
Methodological Framework: Designed the district-level CVRA methodology, including the analytical framework, indicators, and spatial analysis approach.
CVRA Technical Report: Prepared the synthesis report on climate vulnerability and risk profiles and hotspots for NDC 3.0 Adaptation Planning.
Data Framework: Developed the technical specification datasets and data management procedures to ensure digital mapping interoperability.
Capacity Building: Produced instructional materials (PDFs, slides, videos) and facilitated training on assessing climate risks.
Outcomes & Impact:
- Established a technical foundation for district-level risk anticipation and response planning.
- Strengthened national capacity through systematically categorized digital datasets and risk profiling workflows.
