Indonesia Sustainable and Reliable Energy Access Program (SREAP)
Detailed Climate, Disaster Risk and Adaptation Assessment

Under the Sustainable and Reliable Energy Access Program (SREAP), our firm supports ADB and PLN in conducting a comprehensive Climate, Disaster Risk and Adaptation Assessment (CDRA) for Indonesia’sxa power sector. The assessment evaluates how climate change and natural hazards affect PLN’s generation, transmission, and distribution assets, identifies vulnerabilities based on engineering and geospatial factors, and determines how these risks translate into technical, operational, and financial impacts across the wider electricity system. By modelling asset-level and portfolio-wide consequences, the CDRA provides a forward-looking understanding of when climate and disaster risks are likely to influence infrastructure performance and service continuity.

The project also develops a structured framework for identifying, prioritizing, and costing feasible adaptation and disaster risk management measures tailored to PLN’s infrastructure and operational needs. Through detailed impact estimation and financial analysis, the CDRA equips PLN with decision-ready insights and practical tools to integrate climate resilience into asset management, system planning, and long-term investment programs; strengthening the reliability and sustainability of Indonesia’s electricity sector under a changing climate.
